Allow God to Fix It by Dr Nathaniel Omilani

After Adam ate the forbidden fruit along with his wife Eve, the only thing they noticed was that they were naked. Physical nakedness is a symptom of a big problem. The big problem was that Adam was now a dead man (Someone who has no connection with God).

The evidence that Adam was a dead man was in the statement of Jesus in John 10.

John 10:10

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.

Jesus described what the devil did to Adam in the garden of Eden here. In the garden of Eden, Devil was the thief who came. Successfully he stole the peace which Adam enjoyed. In addition, the devil destroyed the excellent relationship between man and God. Ultimately, he killed the life of God in Man. So Jesus said his assignment was to restore the life of God to Man.

The question that this article would attempt to answer is how Adam fixed his nakedness problem.

Adam and Eve made an apron from fig leaves to cover their nakedness. But, to my surprise, Adam and Eve still complained of nakedness even after they wore the apron made from fig leaves.

Gen 3:7&10 (KJV)

and they sewed fig leaves together, and they made themselves covering

So, he said, “I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked

There is a contradiction in Adam’s statement, which we must consider in this article.

Why did Adam complain about NAKEDNESS with his apron on?

There are many answers, but leading among them is that nakedness was more internal than external. Therefore, the nakedness within is more of emptiness and darkness. In addition, a broken man cannot fix himself. Thus, the nakedness Adam experienced cannot be fixed by Adam.

When your television or car develops a fault, it cannot fix itself. Someone else does the fixing. Usually, an expert trained to do the fixing/repair is approached by you for repair. You may also take it to the manufacturer.

After the devil did the damage, Adam thought he could fix it. But unfortunately, the solution that he came up with did nothing; no wonder he complained of nakedness to God.

I want you to look into your marriage, business, health, finances, education, and career.

What are the damages that the enemy has done?

How did you fix them?

Did you allow God to fix them?

You might also devise an apron for yourself. I don’t need to argue with you that your apron has provided no cure.

Apron represents a solution which men devise without the wisdom of God.

Addiction to drugs is some people’s apron. Another use divorce as an apron for a marital crisis. I want to assure you that no apron-like solution cannot fix the problem that is within. They may soothe the problem, but they will not take it away.

After Adam reported the Nakedness to God, God provided a solution for the nakedness outside. He also prophesied about the solution to the problem of the nakedness within.

Gen 3: 15&21

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them

He made an apron of fig leaves, but God made coats of animal skin. God’s solution to the nakedness is more enduring and total. A coat covers the entire body, but an apron covers a portion of the body. The leaves the apron is made of would wither, but the skin would remain forever.

Ecc 3:14

I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

If you are not born again, you are spiritually naked. Tell Jesus to come into your heart and save you

Action Point

No matter the form of nakedness you are experiencing presently, the Lord has a solution to them. Therefore, cry to him in the following prayers.

  1. Oh Lord, my apron is not working; cover all my nakedness with your glory in the name of Jesus Christ.
  2. I accept the provision of God, and I do away with my aprons in the name of Jesus
  3. I reject my (financial, health, marital and ministry) nakedness with your glory
  4. Lord Jesus, I am broken; fix me in Jesus name.
