Never be deceived, beloved young minister, as you seek mentorship aggressively and with sincerity. Most of the time, the ministers you are drawn to are so busy and in a particular phase of their ministry that they hardly have time to mentor young people. The next thing some do is look around for someone similar to the man they are initially drawn to.
The equivalent is often someone you assume is associated with the one your heart is initially drawn to, but who is very busy. Unfortunately, the conclusion that the equivalent is associated with the one you were drawn to is often drawn from seeing them in the same meeting, from the same father in the Lord, or from other indicators, such as attending each other’s meetings.
These indicators may fail because there are equivalents that meet all the criteria, yet the spirit in which they operate is not of Christ. Many young ministers seeking mentorship end up being innocently initiated into satanism. I know a woman who meets the criteria of appearing among the great men of God who are prominent in Nigeria. She appears with royalty, but you hardly see her teaching the word of God anywhere.
As you seek out mentors, keep in mind that God didn’t intend for Aaron to be part of Moses’ mission; Moses actually requested a spokesperson because he struggled to speak. I urge you to consider this: it’s far better to journey alone than to risk being ensnared by negative influences.
