The Tool Kit for Healing

When the disease has already entered III
If there is a divine healing kit, the first tool in the kit will be repentance, and another tool is like a coin with two sides: your mouth and your mind. For healthy living, once the enemy has already entered, there is a need for medical assistance. A spiritual attack has already manifested as poor health. Apart from prayers, it is important to seek medical attention.

Due to a lack of space and time, I will not go into detail on the story of Hezekiah (Isaiah 38). Howbeit, it is good to recall that after God had already reversed Hezekiah’s death through the prophet Isaiah, God added fifteen years to his life. He was instructed to make a paste from figs and apply it to his boil. The power of God, which reversed death and sickness, could also heal him of the boil, but he had to seek medical attention. The prophet Isaiah told Hezekiah to prepare an ointment made from pressed dried figs and apply it to his boil.

It is not in doubt that significant medical breakthroughs are divinely inspired, with God guiding us toward healthier lives through medicine. The light of God illuminates medical researchers, helping them combat the challenges to our health.
It’s important to understand that even after spiritual healing, physical issues may remain, necessitating the expertise of trained physicians. Treatments such as surgery, medication, and therapy can be vital in addressing any damage.
For further insights, consider reading Jeremiah 8:22, Isaiah 1:6, 1 Timothy 5:23, and Luke 10:33-34, which explore the relationship between faith, healing, and medical care.

The next tool in the kit is reaching out to brethren. Every believer belongs to a particular assembly. We are saved to be a part of God’s household. The local assembly you belong to should be the next point of call. You report the case to the head of that family. After you have tried praying on your own, kindly inform the head of the church that you attend.
The family of God and the elders therein are a strong support system in times of trial. The fervent prayer of the church brought Peter out of prison. Jesus deliberately said Wherever two or three are gathered in my name (Matt 18:22). I would advise that when it comes to serious health issues, it is preferable not to allow the entire congregation to have the details of the very nature of the illness.

In this circumstance, it is necessary to provide the bit-by-bit details to the elders and withhold them from the congregation as a whole. Even among your family members (earthly), do not give bit-by-bit information to the entire family (unsaved and immature extended family). The reason is very simple: the level of spiritual maturity varies even as we continue to grow in faith. When some members have the details, they can break the spiritual agreement and start imagining death. Remember that God said concerning the men of the tower of Babel …… and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do (Gen 11:6).

More than twenty-four years ago, I was attending Christ Apostolic Church. A friend in the children’s Sunday school fell from the first floor of a building and went into a coma because he had hit his head. The church began to pray. The only prayer point then was that “Dele must not die”. It was a twenty-four-hour prayer chain. There is always a group of people praying for Dele night and day. The pastors and some elders do pray different prayers in their own closets. On a particular day, I heard about the borehole operation. My understanding of a borehole was that it was a well dug with a machine. They were committing the surgeon and the entire procedure into God’s hands.

The larger congregation had no information about this. As a child, I learned about it by eavesdropping. To God’s glory, Dele was back with us, healthy, strong, and well. Recently, when the Nigerian president was ill, many parts of the country demanded that he reveal his illness publicly. The presidency refused to release specific details. Among the Nigerian people, there are good individuals and bad individuals. So they relied on this principle of not sharing details.
