Your New Father’s House

 

I want us to take a second look at the issue of the father’s house and the power of the fathers’ house. In the Nigerian/African prayer meetings, you can make people pray aggressively by sharing a story of an evil pattern in a family (e.g five siblings with mental issues) and raising a prayer point on fathers house.

Today, I will ask a question what the meaning of the father’s house is, and the power thereof is

The simple answer is that they represent the forces of darkness that are operating in a family. They may be covenants and curses that have limited people in a particular household. The access point of this power is your paternity or maternity.

They usually dictate the evil pace for any life under their influence like a father will do. They are responsible for several unpleasant patterns in families, communities and lineage.

The next question is who the father of a Christian is?

These were the words of Jesus after he resurrected in John 20:17 (NLT)

Don’t cling to me, “Jesus said, “ for I haven’t yet ascended to the father. But go to find my brothers and tell them, I am ascending to my Father and YOUR FATHER, to my God and Your God.

 

In simple terms, God is your father, and he is your God if you are born of God.

I John 4:4 (NLT)

_ But you belong to God, my dear children……..because the spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit that lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world._

We have all being grafted by faith into the household of God (Roman 11:17-18).

Galatian 3:26&29(NLT)

For you are children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belong to you.

It is an identity crisis to pray about your father’s house as a believer, and your mind goes to your earthly family and the evil thereof. That place is your former fathers’ house. You have a new father, and the only thing you can get from this your new father’s house is the blessing of Abraham.

 

In this new father’s house, everyone there is a member of a holy nation and a royal priesthood. So do not get me wrong by concluding that you need not pray against evil forces in the former house.

I am saying that the word of God is superior, and your new father’s house does not have any evil in it but victory over the forces of the former. Therefore/, in prayer, we take the cheque of victory to store the house of God. In the victory store, we cash out the blessing of God, which makes us triumph over the forces of darkness.

Pastor Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christain Church of God, narrated how new mothers of male children must not take pepper and oil within the first nine days after birth in his family. He said violating the rule leads to the death of the baby boy. When he got born again, he had to address it in prayer, and the yoke is now broken in the extended family.

He was able to do this because he was conscious of the blessings in his new father’s house. And he was addressing his former father’s house with the authority of his new father’s house in the place of prayer.

1. If you have not surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, you will be unable to confront the wickedness of your father’s house. Say Lord Jesus come into my heart, I believe that you died and rose again. I confess you are the son of God. Save me Oh lord
2. Change your mindset and do not fear. The evil in your former father’s house will not prevail but that of your present father’s house.
3. Pray  scripturally balanced prayers that will make you free for example Any power from my former father’s house that say I will not enjoy the blessing of Abraham, I bury you now in the name of Jesus.
